She shivered as she pulled upon her upper layer, doing
everything to shake the feeling of being watched. Yes, you heard that right. It
wasn’t because she was cold, despite it being nightfall. It was to try and
shake the fire feeling of being watched.
And the only reason why she was doing so was because her
friend went and ditched her at the restaurant. Sometimes, that woman was
insane. She grilled her earlier for being so…losable, but it turns out, she
just ran off. How could she do that?! We were in Turkey for Christ sake!
Her thoughts scattered when she started hearing footsteps
from behind her. With a pit growing inside her stomach, she decided it would be
best to speed up her pace instead of get caught by whatever creeper may be out
this time at night.
She strained my ears to hear something, only to hear that
the footsteps had sped up with her. The pit grew wider, engulfing my body into
full on fear as she sped up into a run. She didn’t really know where she was
going, but she didn’t care. She just
wanted to get away.
She turned once, only to come face to face with a brick
wall. Stoned walls covered either side, creating a small tunnel in which she
trapped herself in. She turned around slowly as the footsteps which came behind
her slowed to a stop. She saw three men, all taller than her, and 2 of them had
the stance of drunken men. The two drunken men were close while the other was
further away.
“What do you want,” she asked, pulling on her upper layer
tighter, “If you’re here to rob me don’t bother. I left it where I’m staying.”
One of the drunken men shook his head as chuckles irradiated from him and his
other drunken partner. The seemingly sober one grew closer.
“It’s the middle of the night, we got rejected by a few
whores and you think all we want is money,” the one slurred, taking a shaky
step closer and using his hand to grab her arm and pull her closer. “Nah. That’s
definitely not what we want.”
“Stay away from me,” she screamed, squirming against his grip,
trying anything to get away from what would be coming.
“What are you going to do about it,” the man spoke up again,
growing closer until his lips were pressed against hers. She shuttered in
disgust as she could taste alcohol upon his lips. Tears started forming as the
kiss grew harder, full of passion.
Till his head was shoved into the wall next to him, causing
him to let her go as he crumpled into a heap.
She backed away slowly, as she watched the other drunken man
stumble slightly before looking upon the eyes of the attacker. His eyes widened,
the new figure’s back to her as he took one step forward. The unconscious man’s
ally, taking it as an attempt in attack, stumbled over his own two feet before
dashing as quickly as he could down the alley way.
Leaving her and her hero alone.
“Are you alright,” he asked, the mask placed upon his face
covered his eyes with darkness yet there was still a shine of concern in them
and…perhaps something else. “I’ve told them before not to mess with tourists.”
“Woah, woah, wait, how did you know I was a tourist?” she
asked. He let out a simple chuckle.
“Tourists are the only ones who run into a dead alley when
being chased by someone they don’t know,” he replied, a smirk still firm upon
his lips, “You know…Someone like you shouldn’t be alone. Would you like a tour
guide?” She shook her head.
“Nah, I have a friend.”
“Some friend,” he commented before he gestured. She tipped
her head slightly, a bit confused. He shook his head in slight disappointment.
“Can’t I at least walk you to your hotel?” he asked. She
nodded, going next to him and beginning to their destination. It was awkward
for a bit. She didn’t really know how to thank him. She also didn’t know if she
should completely trust him, even though he saved her life. She opened her
mouth to ask him something when he bet her to it.
“So, what are you doing here?” he asked, his head turning to
look at her. She was a bit surprised at the question. She didn’t know how to
respond.
“I-I’m not really sure,” she said, with a slight shrug, “I
guess I’ve always been a bit interested in this country over all the others.”
He nodded.
“That’s nice,” he chuckled before catching someone,
wrenching something out of his hands and shoving him away. He turned back to her
with her wallet in his hand. “The only bad thing is that there are a few pickpockets
and they don’t know right from wrong.”
“That was amazing,” she gasped, “How’d you catch him? I didn’t
even know he did that!”
“Practice,” he chuckled, turning slightly as the familiar
building of her hotel came into view. “I have another question for you.”
“Shoot.”
“Would you like a tour guide?” he asked, turning to fully
see her face. “Or perhaps a body guard?” She tapped her fingers against her
cheek, contemplating whether this would be a good or bad idea.
“How can I trust you?” she asked, wanting a good reason to
trust him. He nodded slightly.
“Well, lets say this,” he puts his head into his hand, only
for it to come back up with no mask. Good gosh he was handsome. His skin was
tanned perfectly, the smirk which appeared made it even better. His eyes
shinned amazingly. A slight finger snap woke her from her day dream.
“Hey, You ok there,” he asked. She shook her head slightly.
“W-what?” she asked, her brain still in the dream state. He
let out a chuckle.
“I said, I normally don’t take off my mask,” he said softly,
“not unless it’s for someone important.” She chuckled slightly.
“You think I’m important?” she asked. He nodded.
“I wouldn’t be going into so much trouble for you if I didn’t,”
he stated, his gaze going off somewhere, “Would I?” She felt heat flowed to her
cheeks before nodding with a soft nervous giggle. Her hands started messing
with each other.
“N-no..No you wouldn’t..Um..”
“Sadiq, Sadiq Adnan, ma’am,” he said happily with a nod
before his masked hand gently placed the item back onto his face, concealing
his eyes once again. “I’ll see you tomorrow morning.” He shot her a smile. “Bright
and early.”
“I’ll hold you to that,” she called. He chuckled with a nod before
he turned around and walked away, down the opposite way they came. She watched
as darkness slowly replaced the area that the man had recently occupied.
“Oooh, he looked handsome,” her friend giggled as she caught
up to her, “What’s his name?” The woman rolled her eyes at her friend.
“Sadiq,” she replied as she opened the door and they
traveled inside.
“How’d you meet him?” her friend asked, almost stumbling as they
walked to their room.
“He saved me from some drunken men,” she called, opening the
door to their room. Her friend giggled even more as she walked over to her bed
and sat upon the covers.
“So he’s your hero?” She retorted happily, “Did you give him
your name?” Shit, she thought as she cringed slightly. She felt her face sour
as if she were a kid about to be beaten. “You didn’t,” her friend gasped, “You better
hope he’s coming back!”
She shook her head slowly, which put her friend into a panic
state. As her friend started babbling about how stupid she was and how she was
never going to get this chance to meet a guy like him again, she just smiled. Now,
all she had to do, was leave the hotel without her knowing.
And boy, she couldn’t wait!
(I’VE F-ED UP!!!! I’m really sorry TT.TT. I hope this didn’t
come out to bad for you…I believe I’ve messed this up…Big time. I’m sorry if I
messed up your character….I’m Sorry!)
