He was never one to let his anger get the best of him. He had always found a way to keep it inside and extinguish it before it took control of him. This was all because of his own doing, no help was needed to control the monster that consumed so many he saw.
That is what his mind set was, that he could rely souly on himself through thick and thin, no matter what it was he faced. He separated himself from everyone he could ever know, even his big brother, Yao, was nothing more than a face he used to remember.
He was considered one of the Axis, but, truly, they didn't mean much more then a few good people who he got to know the most. Granted, they tried to get him to do things and he would agree to them, but inside, he was annoyed.
He was simply more annoyed by the Italian within the group. He was to loud and, over half the time, waaaaay to touchy for the Japanese man. He did admire the German for his military strategies, stealing only a few ideas for his own.
Granted, depending mainly on yourself had it's positives, but it had it's negatives as well. One, he didn't really know if anyone was taking any of his ideas. He'd always zone people out sooner or later. He found out a few days ago America was stealing his culture. That angered him.
The other big thing is....
He kept seeing them...
Couples seem to line the streets everywhere he went. There was one hiding underneath the awning of restaurant, another was sitting at a table eating dinner together, he even passed by three walking on the same sidewalk he was.
He sighed softly as he watched them, slightly wishing that his pride could die for just a moment, to be like them.
Kiku was practicing his technique when he heard the sound. The sound, was more than likely a song, but it simply hypnotized him. He slowly followed the sound, each note dragging him closer and closer to his goal, but when he got to where it came from...
No one was there.
It was strange, he could've sworn the song came from here. A few petals had littered the ground, but that wasn't outta the ordinary. He looked around the scenery once again just to make sure. Nothing.
It wasn't like him to imagine hearing things, yet then again, he used to see things. Could this be one of them? No, none of the one's he came across ever sang, they admitted that it hurt them to even try. It couldn't have been a ghost, or else he would've heard the song long before now.
What was going on?
Was he just imagining things in hopes to fulfill the wish he always wanted? No, his imagination was still good, but it couldn't run away from him like that. Was somebody playing a song/joke on him? No, people didn't want to waist their time or a good joke trying to scare him, the calm one. No one was around close enough to play the song.
The thing that puzzled him the most was that after he replayed the song in his head, he thought he'd heard the voice somewhere before. He couldn't remember where, it was just familiar.
He sighed sadly before turning back and continuing on his practice, not knowing the person hiding out of his view.
"Dude you need to help me," cried the American, "I think there's ghosts in the area behind my house." Kiku sighed. Figures, just when he hoped to have a calming bath after a tense meeting, the American admitted he had watched a scary movie and now believed the forest close to him was haunted.
The only person he could think of to help was Kiku.
"Dude, please, I'm begging you," he pleaded, "My roommate said she wouldn't help me, and your the only other one who's brave enough to do such a thing." Kiku sighed.
"If I help you now, would you leave me alone at least for the rest of this week," he asked, looking up at Alfred.
"Sure Bro, whatever you say."
~Time skiiiip~
"Your clothes are weird," Alfred, who was now in a t-shirt and sweatpants. Kiku gave him a slight glare as he fixed his clothes.
"I'd say the same thing about your clothes," he said simply as he started to work on the lantern. He heard the other let out a simple chuckle at the remark.
"Touché," is all Alfred said. Kiku growled when he couldn't quite get the item to do what he wanted. He can't believe that the American didn't prepare for something like this, the other's flashlights either broken, or no batteries...At....ALL.
"There," he called when the lantern was alive and glowing. He stood up and offered the other man his hand, pulling him up when the guy took it timidly. Kiku lead the way into the backyard, which lead way to a forest.
Alfred protested and tried to run back before they were even to the beginning of the forest, but Kiku stopped him every time he'd try. Their feet would crunch and snap, their force either pushing the forest foliage away or down so hard it had to break.
They grew further and further into the forest, nothing seem to happen before then. Suddenly, all the sounds of nighttime creatures stopped, as if by an alarm clock. Both men stopped and looked around, trying to see if they could see anyone.
"Hello," called Kiku, "Anyone there?" It was silent for a while, till a few snaps were heard, making Alfred jump. "Who's there," Kiku called, as the American hid shakily behind him. A few more movements before it was utterly silent once again.
After standing in silence, the animals started up again. Kiku could hear Alfred sigh before he let out a loud, terrified scream. In response, Kiku turned, only to find Alfred faced with a young women.
"Was it all you," Alfred asked. The women laughed, her red hair bouncing as she nodded.
"You bet," she called, "You're so easy to scare." Kiku couldn't help but tip his head slightly when he heard her speak. There was something in her voice that just sounded...
familiar....
The Representative of Hawaii.
That's who she was, and that's why her voice sounded so familiar. He met her only a few years ago, but due to his pride and theory, he forced her out of his memory.
She found him after the meeting that day, a smile plastered upon her face. He couldn't help but let a small smile slip onto his mask he called a face. There was something about her which made him do so, even though she was the loudest most random women he's ever met.
"Hello Kiku," she called, walking right next to him, "What do you have planned now?" He felt himself give a slight shrug.
"Not really sure," he said softly, "Maybe go home, practice a bit, take a bath and grab something to eat." The women next to him groaned slightly.
"Kikuuu, that's all you ever doooo," she whined, grabbing ahold of his arm. He could feel a bit of heat rise up in his cheeks by the sudden touch.
"W-well, what do you think we should do," he asked her. He saw her features light up at the fact he said we.
"Why don't we go out to eat," she asked, "I mean, it doesn't have to mean anything, just to fr-"
"It's a date," he cut her off with a smile. When the girl saw this, her face heated up.
"A-alright, see you at 6," she asked letting go of his arm and slowly backing away. Kiku nodded, watching as she walked away slightly before looking back up at him. Remember something he did before, he decided to try it once again.
He brought two fingers up onto his mouth and, after closing one eye, sent the kiss floating her way. He softly chuckled as he watched her cheeks turned as red as her hair, a smile growing so wide, you would think she was the joker.
This might be the first time that he'd fall in love, and from the evidence he has collected, she loved him as well. A unique, strange women loved him...
The Separated,
The Calm,
The Quiet One.
